Toshiba vai reestruturar área de negócios B2B

A Companhia anunciou uma restruturação na sua Divisão de PCs na qual abandona o PC de Consumo até final de Março 2016 mantendo no entanto o foco no mercado B2B.

A Toshiba Ibéria anunciou a restruturação da sua operação em unidades de negócio em vez de regiões de actividade: «A Toshiba Ibéria acaba de anunciar que irá sofrer alterações na sua estrutura de direção face ao alinhamento com a nova estrutura europeia e à formação de três unidades de negócio: PC B2C (venda de computadores para o segmento de consumo), PC B2B venda de computadores para o segmento empresarial) e TV em Portugal e Espanha».

O reforço e o potencial do negócio B2B foi salientado no comunicado apresentado de seguida:

Earlier today (21st December 2015), Toshiba Corporation announced that it intends to withdraw from the consumer PC market in many regions and cease to trade in the PC market in some international markets. Within Europe, we remain committed to the PC Business, and to our partnership with you, our long standing and trusted business partner. However, our strategy and resources will now be focused on the B2B market, and B2B products, where we see enormous potential for a mutually successful business.  Indeed the Toshiba Corporation is now focusing all of its resources towards business customers, and this will create a new, revitalized Toshiba. We will focus on our core strengths, and continue to deliver leading edge technology, products, and services, and take these to market via and with you and our other trusted business partners.

Our heritage in the B2B PC Market goes back 30 years, and although we grew and expanded our B2C business during this time, business customers and their needs have been at the heart of our product and technology innovations and what has driven our R&D for so many years, and this will continue unabated for many years to come.

I am sure the news of our intended withdrawal from consumer markets will cause you and our customers some concern for our future stability. I would welcome the opportunity to reassure you on this point, and to further explain our strategies for 2016 and beyond, and so I will arrange for a meeting in the New Year to do so.
